AT EASE: THE GUIDE TO A SMOOTH & SUCCESSFUL MILITARY TRANSITIONÂ WINS 2025 INDIEREADER DISCOVERY AWARD FOR SELF HELP
May, 30, 2025 â On Thursday, May 29th, IndieReader, one of the original review services for self, hybrid and independently published authors, announced the winners of the 15th annual IR Discovery Awards (IRDAs) for 2025. AT EASE by EMILY KING won in the SELF HELP category.
IndieReader launched the IRDAs in 2011 to help notable indie authors receive the attention of top publishing professionals, with the goal of reaching more readers. Noted Amy Edelman, author and founder of IR, âThe books that won the IRDAs this year are not simply great indie books; they are great books, period. We hope that our efforts via the IRDAs ensure that they receive attention from the people who matter most. Potential readers.âÂ
AT EASE received the following verdict by IndieReaderâs reviewers: âAT EASE is a richly informative guide to transitioning from a career in the military to a civilian work life. Drawing on years of professional experience, author Emily King details the philosophical as well as practical differences between the two work spheres, and emphasizes that switching from one to the other can be a lot more complicated than simply polishing up the resume â but that the change is not only navigable, but profitable.â
AT EASE is available in paperback, eBook, and audiobook formats. For volume discounts, inquire at [email protected].

New National Credential Launches to Address Critical Gap in Military-to-Civilian Transition Support
Certified Military Transition Coach⢠Program Offers First-of-Its-Kind Certification for Coaches, HR Leaders, and Veteran Advocates
Washington, D.C. â June 2025 â In response to the growing national need to support over one million U.S. military service members and families transitioning to civilian life each year, behavioral scientist and Master Certified Coach Emily King Grandinetta has launched the Certified Military Transition Coach⢠(CMTCâ˘) program, the first credential of its kind designed to equip professionals with the insight, tools, and frameworks to guide successful military-to-civilian transitions.
Developed in 2025 for both ICF-certified coaches (and in 2026, for professionals in HR, recruiting, talent development, and veteran services), CMTC⢠prepares participants to address the human side of transition, including identity shifts, workplace integration, and purpose discovery, areas often overlooked by traditional transition resources.
âMilitary transition is not a job search, it's a life shift,â says Emily King Grandinetta, founder of The Grandinetta Group and author of At Ease: The Guide to a Smooth & Successful Military Transition. âThis program gives professionals the skills to support that shift with both empathy and structure.â
The 10-week, cohort-based certification offers:
- Â 30 Continuing Education Credits (ICF- and SHRM-approved)
- Â Lifetime Certification with refresher access
- Â Real-world coaching practice and a criterion-based exam
- Â A proven, veteran-centered transition framework
- Â Two learning tracks: one for coaches, one for non-coaches
CMTC⢠is already drawing interest from Fortune 500 talent leaders, independent executive coaches, and veteran-serving nonprofits. The initial certification cohort runs September 4 â November 13, 2025, with limited enrollment.
âThis certification fills a long-standing gap in workforce development, veteran services, and leadership coaching,â says Grandinetta. âIt empowers professionals to not only understand the veteran experience but to guide it, effectively and ethically.â
